The Embroidery Process

Artwork Inspection

Not All artwork is acceptable for use with embroidery. We recommend using simple designs that are bold in appearance.

Stay away from intricate designs as they are often not acceptable for embroidery.

Moonlight would prefer to have a camera ready or computer generated image of your design.

Digitized The Artwork

The embroidery process begins with the “digitizing” of a client’s artwork or design idea. This is where we take the image and convert it into stitches with the help of a specialized digitizing computer.

It is important to note that the process converts or “recreates” a two dimensional image into a three dimensional form.

Embroidery Sample

Once we have digitized the embroidery design we use the embroidery card to create a sample embroidery.

We then show the sample embroidery to the client for final inspection.

If everything is acceptable we are ready to begin production on your products!

Trim Backing Material

Backing material is used to insure that the embroidery’s form is not distorted from the pressure from the sewing needles and thread.

Without a backing material the embroidery would look uneven and “mushy”. The backing material is either cut or pulled from the garment.

Custom Embroidery FAQs

  • What is the average turnaround time for embroidered apparel?

We guarantee our customers some of the quickest turnaround in the industry, delivering orders 7 to 10 business days after they’re received. However, if you need your products sooner than that (we understand that things happen), we can accommodate even the strictest of deadlines.

  • What kind of thread do you use?

While there are a few different types of threads used in the process, two types stand out the most in commercial embroidery – rayon and polyester. Which one is “better” depends mostly upon personal preference and the desired final product. Some prefer the natural shine of rayon, while others prefer the resilient vibrancy of polyester. Regardless of your preference, we aim to provide our customers with as many options as possible – so we offer both.

  • How big can my design be?

The recommended size for embroidery designs is four to five inches wide, but we have an excellent reputation for being able to work with our customers. If we can accommodate your request (and we usually can), we’re more than happy to do so.

  • Does Moonlight Custom Printing offer tackle twill?

We sure do! Though we do not currently offer tackle twill as a selectable service on our website, we are happy to accommodate any order of any size. To place an order, please contact our sales team by phone at (308) 237-0397 or email us at sales@moonlightemb.com.

  • Will your embroidery last a long time?

Like all of the products and services we offer, we adhere to the most stringent standards of quality assurance. We mean it when we say we stand by the work we do. For our customers, it means we guarantee the quality of our embroidery services because our products are manufactured using the best equipment in the industry (Tajima) and the best quality materials. Your embroidery will last longer than the garment upon which it is printed.

  • How do I know you will deliver them on time?

Just because we’re an industry leader doesn’t mean we forgot how crucial customer satisfaction is to our business. We take it into consideration in everything we do, starting with the design process and ending with our excellent customer service, to ensure that our customers’ experiences with us are good ones. Our customers enjoy the accessibility and attention of a local embroidery shop, but with big-name service, dependability, and pricing.

  • Can you embroider my logo?

If you haven’t already noticed, customer satisfaction is our number one priority. If you need something embroidered, we are the best people for the job. Our team of top-tier artists and designers are more than happy to work with you to make your design feasible. If another company has embroidered a logo in the past, we make it our personal goal to stitch it cleaner, tighter, and better.
